The story of barking babies™ begins in Tokyo, Japan.

We are the happily dog-obsessed husband and wife team of Nancy & Michael Howatson. We lived in Tokyo working in design and marketing from 2001 - 2004 and brought our beloved Jack Russell terrier, Quintin, with us. We would never leave our baby behind.

Tokyo opened our eyes to the truly beautiful and unique apparel and accessories available to dogs - we were amazed at the quality and diversity! The sweaters and jackets looked and fit fantastic, the collars & leashes were comfortable and stylish, and the ultra cool accessories looked great in our home.

Upon returning to Canada in 2004, we discovered that the quality of dog goods to which we had all become accustomed was impossible to find... and that's why barking babies™ was created. We love to pamper our barking baby, and we know we're not alone!
